Erin's Weekly Meal Plans

Erin is another one of my wonderful (foodie) friends. She has a food blog called Lee Lou Ann--named after the apartment building where she when she was first married.

I met Erin after she moved to my old neighborhood (and then across the street) in NY about 5 or 6 years ago. I quickly learned that we both shared a love of cooking. (Though I think she's better than I'll ever be...)

I was always delighted when the doorbell would unexpectedly ring and Erin's daughter would be standing there with a goody for me. One time it was a piece of a pear tart, another time it was almond cookies. And then there was the day (shortly before I gave birth to my second child) when she brought me homemade bread and U.S. Senate Bean Soup. (But those are not the only reasons why I love Erin.)

She is the mom to four wonderful children. She makes her own baby food, she knows all the best places to eat and shop. Her talents go way beyond the kitchen--she is also a wonderful pianist/piano teacher. (Among many, many other things.)

I love the way Erin plans her meals. When I grocery shop, I find that I usually am only shopping for dinner and dessert. I often forget that there's breakfast, lunch and snacks to think about, too. Erin includes all meals in her weekly plans.

I've followed Erin's weekly plan in the past and it totally worked for us. Then I got lazy....you know how it is.

I really admire anyone who can plan like that and stick to it! I am so much more haphazard about things. I can never stick to a plan!

Oh my gosh - I love this. I always plan out a few dinners and then count on memory for the rest. Inevitably each week I forget about something that was hidden in the over-stuffed fridge. Great idea. I will start my spreadsheet today! I love projects like this. Thank you!
