The Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, Utah. She is a budding scientist. As soon as she got home, she could not stop talking about the touch tank at the aquarium and how she wanted our whole family to go and see it with her. I received some complimentary tickets for our family to visit the aquarium and decided to surprise the kids with a fun day out. We all needed a break from moving and this was the perfect thing!
My kids all had different favorite exhibits, but they were all fascinated by the touch tank. There are rays, fish, sea stars and other animals in the tank. We laughed at one ray that swam around the tank with its head out of the water and its mouth open. We weren't sure if it was because they are used to being fed (you can buy tickets for that!) or if it was just coming over to say hello to us.
The jellyfish exhibit was my favorite. I've always been fascinated with jellyfish and find them a little mysterious and enigmatic. I love to watch them billow and undulate in the water. (I swam with some in the North Sea when I was in Norway nine years ago. Carefully, of course!) I just think they are magnificent.
The aquarium will be moving to a new, larger location in Draper (at about 12300 South) on September 10th and will reopen in December 2013. We're excited to see the changes and new exhibits. (More pictures and the giveaway info after the jump!)
Here are some more pictures from our visit:

My youngest and my husband both loved the penguins. They were showing off for all of the visitors.
