Hi there!
I'm Lindsey Johnson and I'm the gal behind the recipes and pictures.
I've been blogging since early 2006 when I was a young, tired mother of a one year old and pregnant with baby #2. We were living in the NYC suburbs in a teeny little 2 bedroom apartment with a kitchen the size of a postage stamp. I exaggerate, a postage stamp is much larger than that kitchen was.
Pre-August 2008, all of my recipes were developed and photographed in my tiny apartment. Then in 2008 I gave birth to my third baby, a little girl with red hair, and when she was 2 weeks old, we moved from New York to Utah. (It's about as fun as it sounds!)

We currently live in Utah County, Utah in a (somewhat) rural community with lots of farms and farm animals. However, the only animals in our house are the ones I gave birth to, unless you count the army of ants that appears in our basement each summer.

I'm married to a dashing, handsome, well-dressed guy (don't let that picture fool you--we were in Hawaii after all!) who used to be a librarian (until he lost his job in 2010--boo!). Now he and I tag-team between freelance film/commercial art and production design (him) and freelance writing, recipe development, and food photography (me).
We have three darling, and very active children who make regular appearances on the blog, so I might as well introduce you to them as well.
Lilly is my oldest, followed by Fritz and Betta.
It's a crazy, stressful life, but we love it.
On Cafe Johnsonia you'll find a little something for everyone. I've switched my diet to one that is predominantly plant-based (vegan) and gluten-free. The rest of my family still enjoys eating things like bacon, bread and ice cream. (I don't blame them--that stuff tastes pretty good.)
